Design
Pushing Boundaries and Stirring Emotion
We create bold, iconic designs that are influenced by our Japanese roots.
Inspired by Our Japanese Heritage
FRONT GRILLE
The Concept of Ma
INFINITI embraces the design philosophy of ma – our vehicles have a sense of minimalism enriched with intricate elements. A perfect example is the front grille on the All-New QX80. It was inspired by the upright shapes of a bamboo forest, and hints at the powerful, commanding driving experience to come.

Wood Trim
The Practice of Shitate
In Japanese, shitate ("shee-ta-teh") is the way materials are prepared, shaped and crafted to bring out their best qualities. When we were developing our interior wood trims, rather than hiding it, we retained the natural, open-pore quality, to give the cabin a sense of authenticity.

Design Stories
We’ve never lost sight of the fact that everything we design must address people’s true needs. Our human-centric vehicles create a stronger relationship between the car and owner. Discover more about INFINITI design through our collection of curated stories.
